DANSE MACABRE is an explosion of images in which beauty and horror are superimposed in an almost mystical way, with the same hypnotic power as a scroll lasting several hours. The dark materials are those we observe and conjure up with an unavowable morbid attraction.
From disaster films to tragic news stories, from mass killings to morbid tourism: what does the attraction of death and destruction reveal about us?
Through movement and dance, Clément Thirion translates the inexplicable relationship we have with death and destruction forces at work around and within us.
DANSE MACABRE - Les matières sombres is a theatrical dance, a kind of mass tinged with black humour that touches on the indefinite space where Beauty and Horror mingle, as if in the depths of an unfathomable human soul.
