It started with an emotion.
A small, ingenious lamp designed to replace kerosene lamps.
A lamp powered solely by gravity.
This force which we are all subjected to.
The weight descends.
The energy it generates as it falls powers a light bulb.
The weight hits the ground and the light goes out.
It started with a desire to talk about life.
About the amazing energy of children.
About what this energy commits us to in a world that is destroying itself.
It started with the need to bring back to the table a subject that no one really wants to talk about: death.
A reality to which we are all also subject.
It started with the power of fiction.
Eva and Rinus are friends. They live together and are raising Moïra, 7. Rinus spreekt Nederlands. Eva parle
français. Eva is a pirate of life. Rinus has a disease he won’t recover from. How can we imagine a future when
loss is imminent? What legacy should we leave to those who follow? When visible reality no longer provides
answers, isn't it wise to look to the side, to what cannot be seen? With humor and poetry, the trio deploys a
treasure trove of knowledge and know-how as a precious legacy to offer.
This new creation by Venedig Meer is an invitation to transform our perspectives and perceptions, offering our
creative powers a different way of relating to the resources that surround us.
L’invisible n’est pas inexistant (The invisible is not non-existent) is a joyful exploration of doing things together
differently. On stage, gravity generates electricity, short-circuiting our modes of consumption while inventing an
aesthetic language. Gravity becomes a palpable body in space, in dialogue with human bodies. In her writing,
Florence Minder continues her exploration of reality by summoning the invisible as a powerful source of
imagination. Once again, she offers a unique narrative, influenced by astrophysics, shamanic techniques of
imagination, vegetable cutting, and deathwives, among other things.
To remind ourselves that the relationships we forge are the resources of our future,
So that our desires for alternatives become realities,
A play that reveals the forces within and around us, invisible or made invisible.
