Loraine
Dambermont

Belgian artist Loraine Dambermont cultivates explosive energy. She is especially drawn to power and precision in movement, staging hyperactive choreographies that she channels through intricate, finely detailed musical structures. With her project « Mes Années Bagarre » (My brawling era), she explores the violence and absurdity of virilist figures with self-mockery as the driving force behind her artistic approach. The first Opus Toujours de 3/4 face! has been touring internationally since 2021. The Opus Ⅱ: T’façon on est en 2012 premiered in October 2025 at the Théâtre de Liège during the Biennale Charleroi danse (BE). After graduating from Codarts and The Theaterschool – Academy of Dance and Arts in Rotterdam and Amsterdam, she developed a distinctive approach to dance, focusing on cultivating her own so-called “expeditious” style. Her background is a mix of several dance techniques : from Hip-hop to Contemporary dance, focusing mainly on popping and floor work. In 2013, she won a choreographic prize with the duet Buy My City - a choreographic work in collaboration with Noora Hannula: a decisive encounter in her career. As a dancer, she has worked with The Nordic Beasts / Noora Hannula (DK), Mute Comp. Physical theater (DK), Michèle Anne De Mey (BE), Itamar Serussi (IL), Beppie Blankert (NL), Etienne Rochefort (FR) and recently Leslie Mannès (BE). The turning point of her career as a choreographer was her latest work (production 2021) called Toujours de 3⁄4 face! - a solo work part of the Aerowaves Spring Forward Twenty23 selection that is still touring internationally, counting so far more than 60 venues in about 20 different countries. Since October 2023, she has been working with BLOOM Project, a Live Arts Belgian production office based in Brussels, taking care of her project's development, production and booking.
