Drawing inspiration from today’s culture of online clashes, Loraine Dambermont appropriates this hyper-visible virilist phenomenon, and distills from it a raw and incisive choreographic language. She blurs the codes of fighting and unleashes power where it is least expected. Between humor, direct confrontation and catharsis, dance becomes a straightforward language capable of bringing materials, bodies, and imaginaries into dialogue within the same movement of impact and grace. On stage, the bodies provoke and collide in an explosive energy hyper-synchronized with the soundtrack, which sharply heightens the surreal dimension of the performance.
Following the first solo chapter, Toujours de 3/4 face!, this second part of the trilogy Mes années bagarre continues its exploration of the normalization of violence — especially on social media — through a popular grounding within the contemporary dance scene.
